Despite a long history of gun violence and the rise of mass killings in schools and universities across the country, Texas is set to allow students and academics to carry guns on campus. This new law will affect 38 colleges state wide and over half a million students. It will make Texas the second state after Utah to allow guns on campus.
Guns on Campus
This is not the first time the 'guns on campus' debate has come up. 20 other states have rejected similar motions since the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007. This begs the question why so many people seem to want more guns on campus after so many innocent people have already been killed.
